NEXT PHOTO WALK SATURDAY MAY 25 2013
Would you like to make creative photographs? Are you looking to improve your photographic eye – develop your creative perspective – find your style?
My photo walks are for people who are already familiar with their camera (perhaps you have taken my introductory course). These walks are for people looking for something beyond the technical aspects of photography.
Learn to compose your photograph in camera, learn to see where the interesting photograph lives and find your own visual voice in the process.
Nervous about going out photographing alone? Then join me, Sheena Wilkie, on a photo walk! We’ll travel light for walking and dress for the weather, because will go out rain or shine! You will gain practice and confidence in the field under the guidance of an experienced photography instructor and professional photographer.
Sometimes just having someone point and say, Hey, take a look at this! is enough to make you see an ordinary subject in a new way. We’re not going to go far, you’ll be amazed at what there is to photograph right in front of your face.
After our walk we’ll wrap up at a local coffee shop. Find your creative visual self in a fun, friendly, and nurturing environment.
Photo walks are limited to small groups. Registration is required! We’ll look for creative opportunities for two hours and then grab a coffee and discuss our finds!
The next few walks will be at Crescent Beach in Surrey and we will meet at Blackie’s Spit at 9 AM sharp! Meet here in the gravel parking lot between the swimming club and the dog park . My cel number should you get lost is 604-619-7778.
What should I wear? Comfie shoes, jacket with hood, or hat, sunscreen, dress for the weather.
What do I need to bring? Your camera, fully charged battery, extra memory or film, a wide angle lens if you have it, and or a 50mm lens if you have it. This is a perfect chance to try out your nifty fifty!
You won’t need a tripod, we’re going to wander light and unencumbered by a tripod.
If it looks like it’s going to rain bring a 1 or 2 gallon ziplock bag to keep your camera and lens dry. Go light on the gear (if it can all fit within a backpack and is light, that’s best). Over time, gear can start to feel really heavy.
(Photo photography walks for photographers living in Surrey, Langley, Delta, Ladner, White Rock, Richmond, New Westminster, Abbotsford, Vancouver, Chilliwack, Aldergrove, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Mission, Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley.)
